Mini collection 41 -- My treasures

This is the first collection I ever made. It's my 'treasures' from when I was a very small child. I've kept them all this time, but mostly without looking at them, and now if I find them again (which I did by chance yesterday evening), I wonder at the strangeness of these ill-assorted objects. They meant everything to me from when I was about six or seven onwards. I would obsessively sort through them and scrutinise them, particularly any 'jewels' which I would hold up to the light and look through for hours. Honestly, it was very strange. I specially loved anything with iridescence.
So this is really the birth of me as a collector.

This to me is THE most exquisite collection yet. I totally "get" why you collected it all.......

Even as an adult I can see why you would love these treasures so much, and they really are treasures.

I think they're beautiful. And I agree with Menopausalmusing, it IS the most exquisite collection.

You're childish self should be very proud that her adult self kept this collection, rather than throwing it away.

They may seem ill assorted now Jane but they must have held such significance and resonance for the younger 'you', otherwise you would not have kept them safe all these years and they would not have inspired the love you have for collecting the disparate things you do.

These really are treasures. I'm sure I've got an old tin of stuff like that somewhere... must go and hunt it out. It was lovely to see you today.
