Claremont -- can anybody identify this house and children?

I found this photograph of a house called Claremont among my mother's things. I'm posting it here on the chance that someone may come across it and be able to identify either the house or the children. I'd love to know where it is and what the connection is to my family. I think there must be one. Thanks!

It would help if you told us at least in what country the house is, if not the town. It would also help if you got rid of the stupid word-verification thing - I for one will never leave another comment on your blog until you have. You have nothing to lose!

Tom, Tom, a little calm! I don't know for certain which country the house is in but in all probability it's in the UK.
I've tried taking the verification thing off (the last time you complained about it) but I immediately got spam, so it's a question of the lesser of two evils... Sorry.

Unfortunately, Claremont is quite a common house name - we live in a cul-du-sac so named after a house and pottery that used to be on the site. There's also a Claremont Rd in Woking - I don't know where it originates though.

Yes, unfortunately it's rather a longshot. I've already tried to identify the house myself, using the internet, but have discovered loads of Claremonts all over the country. I'm just posting it here so that if anyone else is doing family history research on this family, whoever they are, they may come across it.

Thanks for any efforts to identify.

What a lovely picture. It certainly looks British. I hope you find out something about it - but unfortunately I'm no help at all!

Can't help you either Jane. It looks like a typical Edwardian British middle class house and street to me. Hope you make a break through!
